Hello, my name is William J. Padilla and I am the medical director of Padilla Medical Clinic. I am a Board Certified Family Practitioner. I am originally from Monterrey Mexico and lived there until two years of age when my family moved to the United States so that my father could complete his medical training. We settled in Houston Texas where I was raised and completed my primary education.
I grew up experiencing the joy and fulfillment of providing medical care and sacred physician-patient relationship at my father’s general practice office. By the time I was in elementary school I had decided that I wanted to make the art of medicine my life’s work.
I returned to Monterrey Mexico to attend medical school at the University of Monterrey. I chose Family Practice as my specialty as I wanted to attend to patients of all ages, not wanting to limit myself to a specific patient type or organ system but rather specialize in treating the whole person regardless of age as well as the complete family unit.
After completing medical school, I was accepted to the Family Practice residency program at the University of Massachusetts in 1983. After completing my residency in 1986 I joined a medical group practice in southern San Diego where I practiced for fifteen years.
I had the opportunity to open my own clinic in 2001 with the goal of connecting with my patients on a more personal level. I wanted to develop and promote a relaxed pleasant environment where our patients could feel comfortable and well cared for.
I am married to Ann whom many of you know is our office manager at my San Diego office and the office administrator at Padilla Medical Clinic in Houston.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, surfing which I continue to enjoy after many years and staying fit with yoga, biking or running.
